About Music Education Center
Founded in 2005 by the Tischler family, Music Education Center (MECA) has been proudly serving the South Elgin and larger Kane County communities for over 20 years. Today, MECA is home to a thriving community of 400+ students and 35+ qualified and passionate teachers who bring a wide range of experience, styles, and energy to every lesson!
We offer the best in private instruction in piano, voice, guitar, orchestra and band instruments, percussion, ukulele, and more – welcoming beginners, lifelong learners, hobbyists, and future rock stars alike! One-on-one lessons are personalized to support each student’s goals and interests and, with tiered pricing options, we strive to make high-quality instruction accessible for every family.
Our wide range of available teachers means every student can find the right fit—from classical to contemporary, and everything in between. For our youngest musicians, our Music Explorers program provides a joyful and engaging introduction to music. And for students eager to collaborate, MECA Amplified, our rock band program, gives them the chance to rehearse, perform, and grow together as a group. We’re constantly growing and expanding group program offerings too!
Students with the desire to perform will find ample opportunity to do so at MECA! Students can shine on stage in our formal recitals, share their progress at our casual, open-mic-style MECA Sound Socials, or take the spotlight at local venues with their MECA Amplified band.
