We emphasize musical growth, confidence, and creativity through high-quality instruction and a welcoming, community-based approach. Students can explore private lessons, group classes, and ensembles across a range of instruments and styles. Our curriculum evolves to meet the unique needs of children, teens, and adults—making music a meaningful and lasting part of life at any age.

They are seasoned educators—many with decades of teaching experience across private studios, schools, and universities.

Monthly Recitals and Concerts
At the Music & Dance Academy, we firmly believe that a comprehensive music education is incomplete without ample opportunities for performance. Performing helps to foster self-confidence, and pride, as well as provide a valuable experience that helps to develop our most important life skills. At the Academy, we go beyond the standard by offering our students a rich spectrum of performance opportunities. While some music schools might settle for two recitals per year, we take pride in providing our students with a diverse range of venues and events where they can showcase their talents. From the grand stage of the UA Fred Fox School of Music during our Ensembles Festival Gala and the All School Music Recital, to the intimate settings of bookstores, assisted living facilities, churches, and local public events, we ensure all our students have the chance to shine before their families, friends, and the wider Tucson community.

Voice

Piano
The piano is both approachable for young beginners and richly complex for advanced players, and is perfect for learning to read music and building a strong musical foundation.
Guitar & Ukulele
Guitar is one of the most versatile instruments in music today, with deep roots in both classical repertoire and contemporary styles. Our instructors teach across a wide range of genres, helping you build dependable skills whether you’re playing solo or in a group.
Violin
The violin is a versatile and expressive instrument with a wide emotional range. Learning it develops agility, refined listening, and nuanced control—enabling players to convey everything from delicate lyricism to powerful intensity. It inspires growth and opens doors to both solo and ensemble playing.
Cello
Cello lessons offer a chance to connect deeply with one of music’s most soulful instruments. Develop strong fundamentals to play without tension and produce a clear and beautiful sound with this instrument through careful and insightful guidance.
Woodwind
Woodwind instruments offer a rich palette of sound—lyrical, expressive, and full of character. Whether learning flute, clarinet, or saxophone, students develop breath control, tone, and musical sensitivity. Studying woodwinds fosters deep listening and expressive playing, opening the door to both solo and ensemble experiences.
Drums
Drum lessons build a solid foundation in rhythm, timing, and technique essential for all styles. From mastering basic beats to more complex patterns, students develop control and confidence. Whether playing rock, jazz, or beyond, these fundamentals empower students to express themselves fully on the drum kit or with a variety of percussion instruments.

Music Ensemble
